Adam Lessnau is a multi-instrumentalist, lead singer, frontperson, and composer with a lifetime of musical experience. Adam has traveled through over forty states and nine countries performing music in clubs, on parades, at festivals, and within communities.

Adam’s roots can be traced back to Detroit, Michigan where grandfather Donald Lessnau and other family members played in bars, hotels and nightclubs through the 1950’s and 60’s. Adam’s father, Matthew Lessnau, is a songwriter, guitarist, pianist, and vocalist based out of Santa Rosa, California, where Adam grew up playing music in the church and with his father’s projects.

In 2014, Adam moved to New Orleans, Louisiana and has dedicated the past decade to learning, performing, and perpetuating traditional New Orleans music. Adam is a fixture on the local New Orleans music scene, and performs with acts such as James Andrews and the Crescent City All-Stars, Efrem Towns, Kirk Joseph’s Backyard Groove, the Youngfellaz Brass Band, the Gloryland Brass Band, and many more.

Adam has also spent time with non-profits, NGOs, and community organizations, and has worn hats such as project manager, volunteer supervisor, event coordinator, program director – and volunteer. In the music business world, Adam’s responsibilities include tour manager, booking agent, promoter, producer, and event planner. Current activism in town includes collaboration with the Music, Arts, and Culture Coalition for New Orleans (MACCNO), American Federation of Musicians (AFM) Local 174-496, New Orleans Musicians for Palestine, Greater New Orleans Caring Collective (GNOCC), Civic Studio, and other grassroots organizations.
